Paddle tennis is an emerging sport that combines tennis and table tennis. Because its racket structure is similar to a table tennis racket, it is called paddle tennis.
The sport is currently predominantly recreational abroad, but as it becomes more and more popular with the general public, it is very likely to develop into a professional sport in the future. At present, some cities in China have begun to introduce and promote this emerging sport integrating leisure, fitness and competition.
